Welcome To The Purify Your Gaze Blog

Asalam Alaikum and welcome to my first post on the Purify Your Gaze blog!

People often ask me, “don’t you ever find yourself feeling drained doing the work that you do?”

And I emphatically answer, NO! Alhamdulilah I love the work that I do with Purify Your Gaze and the individuals who I’ve been blessed to cross paths with on their journeys have widened my own horizons and taught me a lot.

I hope through the blog I can share with you some of the unique experiences I’ve had working with Muslims in recovery from sexual compulsions and share with you my own reflections reflections and ideas when it comes to addiction recovery, spirituality, personal and relational growth.

Most importantly I want to have fun with this and hope you share in this experience with me too!

May Allah SWT guide us to the straight path and accept from us our deeds. Ameen!

assalamu alaikum majid brother. or the old name siddique. i dont think you remember me but i was part of the community about 7 months and havvent noticed but i was learning alot from your detail question. now when im part of the community again i kind of feel alone in there withiut you, and i was seqrching for you if you are still in there, and found out that you changed your name and you arent part of community anymore.
Brother im telling you about my self, i did a big mistake since i left community i was alot more low then before, and had a lot of relapses. not that community saves you from relapses, but its a great place when you dont feel alone, and have people to tell you that you’re doing something wrong after any slip, learn different advices etc.
I think that community it has a great power for recovering, we only should use it well.
I hope to hear well from you my brother, and may Allah make things easy for you and any muslim out there that is addicted.
    Assalamu alaikum.

Asalam alaikum wa rahmatullah! This blog put a huge smile on my face. I look forward to be active not only here but also at the PYG Community if I win the year long subscription!
I was associated with PYG for quite sometime and wallahi the Purify Your Gaze Program was THE BEST thing that ever happened to me. I just checked the program catalog, I’d be subscribing to “The Single Man’s Guide To Withstanding Sexual Temptations And Becoming Sexually Mature Before Marriage” inshallah!
The blog looks great! How I wish to be a part of this!

Jazak Allaah khair akhi! Your program was the first booster for me to get started, but unfortunately I couldn’t continue after the free course because of financial issues!
But am very much excited and confident that I’ll be given 1 year free subscription! I think a year is more than enough to drawback to the normal productive life I used to live..
    Once again jazak Allaah khair!
Hope to see more from your side!
    May Allaah bless you!

This is awesome. One of our community leaders/teachers started a blog where he would sporadically post short, simple, and sweet entries. What was really cool is that they were generally about practical steps to take in life whether in business or regularly, yet would tie in something Islamic in way you might not have ever heard or thought of before. I can’t imagine what it’s like to bear witness to others going through a process of self discovery as they go through recovery. It’s gotta be tough yet on the other hand you must pick up so many precious things. With this blog… we won’t have to imagine even if we could, eh? =)

Jazak Allah khair brother Zeyad and may Allah bless you and your family. Congratulations on the blog and the baby.
I wonder if you had used the 12-steps and traditions that Millati Islami uses for Muslim clients with substance addiction, and if so, what your experience with that was.
    Thank you.

Thank you Omar for your kind words and ameen to your duaa.
The 12 steps and traditions are a wonderful institution and have been around for 80+ years so undoubtedly anyone facilitating recovery for others will glean upon the wisdom contained from therein. I do also alhamdulilah leverage various modalities and traditions of healing, wisdom from our own sacred traditions, research from clinicians, and things I’ve come to know now doing this for a while.
